THE DANGERS OF PVC AND WHY OUR MATERIAL IS THE BETTER ALTERNATIVE
The Chlorine in PVC, produces Dioxins which are known to be the most toxic chemical ever produced. These Dioxins are released (outgassing) while being manufactured and throughout the life of the product, destroying the ozone and entering into the food and water sources. EPA has called vinyl chloride a human carcinogen.
Greenpeace, says “PVC contaminates humans and the environment throughout its lifecycle during its production, use, and disposal.
The alternative to this dangerous material is our material, HDPE recycled plastic which is produced from discarded milk and detergent containers. HDPE is benign to the environment.
California’s new bills-AB 2761 and SB 54 will begin to take aggressive steps to prohibit PVC usage in food packaging and clean up plastic pollution in our water ways. The laws also take direct aim at PVC where the material is used in outdoor applications. The material is prohibited if it is subject to physical damage, or exposure to the direct UV rays of the sun, which will include FENCING!
